Is your location HAUNTED?
The answer is YES! After many reported accounts from our actors, and members of our art department, as well as a few of the construction workers, we requested the help of a Paranormal Team. After their preliminary investigation, and reviewing their evidence they suggested offering Ghost Hunts to the public. We were thrilled with their findings and events, and you can view their files here.
Where is Saylorsburg?
Historic down town Saylorsburg, Pa, is located in the picturesque Pocono Mountains. We are not far from many of the large tourism points of the Poconos like Camelback Mountain and the Crossings Outlets as well as many of the large resorts scattered in and about the mountains. How BIG is your production?
Well to say the least the screams are so intense that some times our patrons scare the Ghouls and Ghosts inside! We are located in the legendary Lake House Hotel, which the original footprint of the Victorian Era Stage Coach Stop of our building dates back to 1820 with the expansive hotel addition happening at the turn of the century. We have two attractions (ALtERED NIGHtMARES and The Hotel of Horror) for you to witness inside as well as additional entertainment offered throughout the month. Does anyone touch you?
That is an often asked question, and no our actors will not touch you. As we said, our ACTORS will not touch you.
How many actors do you have?
Do you want to know how many of the living nature or of the dead?
How do I get a job at ALtERED NIGHtMARES?
Yes we do have the greatest job in the world, thanks for asking! You first have to have a love of all things Horror and Halloween. You have to meet certain requirements and audition.
How many people can go through at once in a group?
We suggest to be able to get the best experience that you travel inside our walls in groups of 4 or less. We do understand though at certain times exceptions need to be made, please see our infamous linemen for consideration!
What if I am too SCARED to continue?
We've got your back. Ask an actor and you will be escorted out, but don't forget there is no re-entry and no refunds.
Will we be open later than 11PM?
As the line permits, we will remain open. (If the line begins to get too long though we reserve the right to close the box office for purchases, but will allow all patrons who have purchased a ticket that evening to experience the attractions they have purchased tickets for.
What if it rains?
WE ARE OPEN! We have you covered, in our indoor holding area and under our BIG TOP! We are an indoor walk through attraction with a fully covered wait inside the dark, staged basement of the legendary Lake House Hotel as well as outside under a large circus style tent, we can fit over 800 dry bodies combined at any given time, bring your friends!
What about age restrictions?
We are a Halloween Celebration. We do like to say 12 and over for a straight answer, but we do know again that exceptions can be made. With parental permission we will allow younger.
How about concessions?
We will have onsite concessions as well as being able to direct you to local establishments for a bite to eat or a night cap.
